Most Amazon Brands Have a Conversion Problem Disguised as a Traffic Problem

A better-looking image isn’t necessarily a better-selling image. The real test is whether it removes a buying objection.

Most Amazon brands don’t have a traffic problem. They have a conversion problem disguised as a traffic problem.

When sales slow down, the first reaction is often “Let’s increase PPC.” That can be the wrong move.

The Order to Check Before Buying More Traffic

  1. Product and offer. Is the price, positioning, reviews, rating, and offer competitive?
  2. Listing and relevance. Are we targeting the right search intent, and does the product page communicate the right value?
  3. Conversion. Are shoppers actually turning into customers?
  4. PPC. Only now does it make sense to aggressively scale paid traffic.

Because more traffic × poor conversion = more expensive failure.

Amazon growth isn’t about generating the maximum amount of traffic. It’s about building a system where traffic can convert profitably, then scaling it. Offer → Relevance → Conversion → PPC → Scale. That sequence matters.

If the listing turns out to be the problem, here’s the 8-step process I use to optimize an Amazon listing, from revenue keywords to the bullet formula.
