Amazon Sellers in Europe: Your PPC Isn't Underperforming. Your Listings Are Under-Converting.

Scaling a low-conversion listing doesn’t just burn capital. It actively trains the algorithm to deprioritize the ASIN.

An unpopular opinion for Amazon sellers in Europe: your PPC isn’t underperforming. Your listings are under-converting.

I see this pattern constantly with brands selling across DE, UK, and other EU marketplaces. They hire someone to “fix PPC.” That person restructures campaigns. ACoS improves slightly. Then it plateaus. Everyone gets frustrated.

The reason? You’re sending more traffic to a listing that converts at 8% when the category leader converts at 16%. No campaign structure in the world fixes that math.

The Diagnostic Before Touching a Campaign

  1. Pull CTR and CVR from Brand Analytics for every hero ASIN
  2. Benchmark against the top 3 competitors in the same subcategory
  3. Identify whether the gap is visibility (CTR) or conversion (CVR)

Low CTR and Low CVR Need Different Fixes

Then I fix in sequence: main image → title → bullets → A+ Content → backend. One variable at a time, with 14–21 day testing windows, measuring before scaling.

Fix the listing first. Then let PPC do what it’s supposed to do: amplify a system that already converts.

When the diagnosis points to the listing rather than the campaign, this is the 8-step listing optimization process I follow before touching any bids.
